spew - what is it?
more spew
This is where I go to get things off my chest every now and then. For those of you familiar with my old rantings, this is basically the same thing, 'cept maybe a tad more risqué since I won't mince on cussing. ;-p But don't worry, I won't spit out shit for no reason. For those of you who've never been to my pages before, this section is here for me to make comments (mostly educated, sometimes not) about things that I've observed in my life and also just to keep my friends up to date with what I've been doing. Keep in mind that anything you read on here is pure opinion which might not jive with your own view of the world. If that's the case, friendly messages espousing your own views are welcome but flames will be cruelly mocked. So, without further ado.... > Current Spew

Dec. 13, 2006 - Welcome, little one...

Introducing Devon Cheng, born December 12, 2006. 6 pounds, 14.4 ounces and 19.5 inches long. All fingers and toes and other extremity accounted for. =)

Devon!

Baby registry.

Jul. 24, 2006 - No time wasted

Well this recent development certainly came as a surprise. I don't think it's sunk in 100% quite yet (that probably won't be until after birth) but it's getting there. As of this most recent ultrasound, the kid is 19 weeks and 4 days old (well, a full 20 weeks now). And it's a boy. At least we're pretty sure that it's a boy. I guess we'll double-check a few months down the line during the next ultrasound. ;-p Oh, and his due date is around the middle of December. Erin's hoping that he'll come earlier rather than later cause she'd rather have a Sagittarius baby instead of a Capricorn (no disrepect to you Capricorns out there).

Profile

To me, the above pic shows a head in profile with some vaguely visible features. To Erin, the above pic shows a head in profile with easily discernible facial features. And the baby's smiling.

Hand

This pic can mean one of 3 things:
  1. He's going to be a rocker when he grows up.
  2. He's part Hawaiian.
  3. Our phone bills are going to skyrocket.

Anyway, this will have to do for now. No doubt my future blog entries will be baby-oriented just a little bit. ;-) You have been warned.

Dec. 22, 2005 - Another step

Wow, it's been ages since I've added a new spew. Guess the blog has taken over the day-to-day duties of my online presence and not many major things have been happening to me. =p

Anyway, as of this past Monday, December 19, 2005, we are officially home owners! Or at least, condo owners. ;-p Been a long and arduous process but at least it's over with. Overall it went smoothly except for one giant hiccup near the end that dragged out the process for an extra month. Some reminders for next time (if there is a next time) or for future home owners:

• If someone is helping you with a down payment, make sure you have their contribution in your account 3 months before you apply for a mortgage. It's just easier that way. Mortgage companies only check your account 1-2 months back.

• No need to give the mortgage company your entire financial information. Apparently just showing them that you have enough money to cover what you say you're going to put down as downpayment is enough. So no need to let them know all of your bank accounts and retirement plans and such.

• Get a good lawyer. Sure they're pricey and normally a pain in the ass but a good one helps out a lot. Fortunately we had a pretty good one.

Anyway, I'm so, soooo glad it's over with. Even though I'm all tapped out financially and there's still more expenses to follow (minor renovations and such), I'm pretty excited. Lots more space is always good and I can finally think about putting stuff up on the walls. Should be cool. =)
