Admonishment for the Foolish PeopleThis episode opens with Gill, the dog, perched at the very top of a sail and growling happily to himself. Meanwhile on the deck of the ship, Gulf is at it again; trying to hawk off some Spanish Fly type liquid to the sailors gathered around him but the sailors prove to be a skeptical lot. In the kitchen, Rasha and Fam are fighting each other over who gets to cook (for Lyle of course). Rasha seems to have the upper hand (especially since she's waving a cleaver around) and she takes the time to make fun of Fam, telling her that there would be no way that Lyle would fall for a girl with a tail when he could have an attractive, sophisticated, adult woman like herself. Fam reciprocates by taking a big chomp on Rasha's arm again. All hell breaks loose and the screen flashes down to the hold underneath the kitchen where Miguel is sitting, cleaning his equipment while listening to the ruckus up above. On deckside, Iri looks like she just got up or just extremely bored. She talks to Gulf for a little bit before Gulf is called off to talk to the captain. He tells her to take it easy until they reach the island. Iri responds that she can't take it easy since she's getting a headache just trying to figure out how the bunch of 'em will defeat Ruguduru next time they meet. After Gulf leaves, Iri spots Lyle staring out into the sea near the aft of the boat so she goes to chat with him. They hit it off pretty well but the conversation drifts to Ruguduru and Lyle recounts his story. Lyle's father, King Ria, governed the north continent from the city of Rebarto. It was a peaceful country and the king had good diplomatic relations with other countries. Life was good for Lyle and he had a cute, attractive young love. But then the king suggested that Lyle take a trip out into the world like he himself had done when he was Lyle's age. However, while Lyle was away, Ruguduru, the bishop of the city, apparently got too power-hungry, broke the seal around the magic power that Lyle's father had sealed off somewhere and completely destroyed the city and its citizens. When Lyle returned, all he found was desolate wasteland. However, his uncle was still barely alive in the ruins and he told Lyle what had happened. So since then, Lyle has been following Ruguduru around (not too hard since he destroyed every country he went through) and he is determined not to let Ruguduru get the Power. Lyle tells Iri that Ruguduru is only his problem, that the rest don't have to get involved. But Iri just waves it off and says that since he's a prince, everyone would feel better if he just took charge. Lyle smiles and tells Iri that she's a good person. At this point, Fam catches sight of them together and is none too happy about it. In the middle of ranting at Iri, she gets thrown aside by Rasha who accuses Iri of making a play for the prince even though she pretended not to be interested at first. Fam in the meantime has recovered and is latched onto Lyle's arm, telling him that it's time to eat. Iri looks a little frightened that Fam had actually cooked some. So everyone heads downstairs for food. In the galley, there's food on the table that looks good enough for a feast. And lots of it. Almost all of it made by Rasha who is praised by Iri and Lyle. Gill tries to sneak a pie off the table and almost gets his paw taken off by a knife Rasha throws at him from across the table. Rasha points to the scraps she had left for Gill on the floor. Gill doesn't look too happy. As they start to eat, conversation turns to the mirror on Seragio Island. While the conversation is going on, Gill is sneaking his way under the table to have another go at the pie. Fam in the meantime is pressing Lyle to try the salad- looking thing that she made. Gill is finally able to snatch a piece of the pie while Rasha is distracted with Fam and Lyle. He prompty wolfs down the slice in one bite and then just as promptly shoots up into the air about 5 feet while spinning around in circles spewing either tobasco sauce, fire, or blood from his mouth. Iri and Lyle have a taste at the food and comments that everything seems to be a tad hot (spicy). Fam looks happy and makes fun of Rasha saying that her food only looks good. Rasha is about to cry and Gill is still twitching on the floor. Just then, two empty bottles drop to the floor under Fam. Rasha, suspecting foul play, ominously asks her what it is while developing a nervous twitch. All hell breaks loose once more. Later that night, Iri lies in her hammock trying to sleep. Apparently she's still worried about something. She looks over at Fam and can't help smiling when Fam starts to giggle in her sleep. She starts getting a bit nervous though when Fam starts making some odd movements. The next day, Iri is practicing her swordplay with Miguel on deck with some sailors watching. Earlier on, she had asked Miguel to train her and Lyle with the sword and Rasha to train Fam in magic. Rasha agreed since Lyle also asked her to help out but Miguel needed a bit more persuading (aka a heel digging into his toe from Rasha). Iri isn't doing very well and Miguel gets annoyed and calls on Lyle to fight next. Miguel tells Iri to go fight against the sailors. The sailors get all riled up but Miguel tells them that they should be thanking him for sending a girl there way. But the sailors are picky and comment that if Iri was at least beautiful they wouldn't mind but they can't tell if she's even a man or a woman. This of course pisses Iri off and she chases after the sailors for a while. Gulf and Gill, who was watching all this while enjoying some tea, suddenly find themselves covered with dirty laundry that Rasha had just thrown on them. Rasha tells him that it's his job to do the laundry and clean the kitchen since he's the idle one. Rasha then proceeds up another deck to where Fam is standing. Fam is reluctant to learn any of the spells that Rasha would teach her because they are destructive ones. But Rasha manages to convince Fam to do it in order to help Lyle. For the next few days, everyone is busy practicing (or in Gulf's case, washing clothes) and progress is made. Gulf even cooks. Iri and Miguel devour everything in their path during mealtime while everyone else stares incredulously. Eventually, Iri manages to disarm Miguel one day and Lyle congratulates her. Even Miguel has the good graces to just look pleased that all this work had succeeded. But suddenly, dark, ominous clouds start to form around the ship. The sailors prepare for a storm. Suddenly a bright light shoots down from the sky and blasts the ship and the surrounding area. It freezes the sea around the ship. Ruguduru then appears once more. He already has the Mirror of Truth and has come to retrieve the other two treasures. Miguel attacks Ruguduru and manages to slice deep into Ruguduru's left torso. But Ruguduru just regenerates and blasts Miguel backwards onto the deck. He then proceeds to summon 3 gigantic sea serpents and laughs maniacally while the serpents begin to destroy the ship and terrorize the group. Rasha tries to cast a spell on one of the serpents but it has no effect. Iri then casts her own magic which seems to kill 2 of the serpents. The last serpent takes a big chomp of Ruguduru and takes off into the air with the evil mage hanging halfway out of its mouth. Ruguduru disintegrates the last serpent and the ice covering the surrounding ocean and the ship disappears. He then floats back down onto the ship and regenerates his wounds and missing limbs. He was surprised that someone was able to hurt him. It seems like Iri uses the same kind of magic that he does. He tells them that he'll repay them for the pain later at his castle when he has the Power. He then uses magic to bring the Sword of Sargus and the family seal out from the hold and streaks off with them. Departing with the time-honored villain words, 'I'll be waiting for you. ' Back on the ship, everyone is looking despondent at the loss. Fam is upset that Sargus left even though it had promised to help Lyle. The other adventurers finally notice that Iri is a mouse. Iri is all fired up and ready to charge to Ruguduru's castle. And she convinces them that even though Ruguduru was able to take the sword with him, the spirit of Sargus was still with them. So there is still hope. For once, everyone is in agreement that they have to go to the castle. The sun is setting upon the battered ship as the group plans for the trials ahead.
