I Want Everything My Way....This very first episode starts out rather ominously for about the first 5 seconds but then the music switches to a rather cutesy theme. When we are first introduced to Fam & Iri, they are currently about to be crushed by a lowering ceiling. But Fam manages to save them at the last possible moment. Iri gets annoyed at the fact that Fam is tripping through every trap in the ruin and Fam, scrambling to get away from her, triggers another trap which causes the floor to crumble and the duo falls a loooong ways.... straight out of the ruins and into the surrounding desert. Calling it a day, they head back towards town; Iri complaining all the way about how someone beat them to the ruins and how Fam kept getting them caught in the traps. Fam, perky as ever, convinces Iri that they need to take a break in town and rent a room at an inn. At the inn, they try to swap some treasures dug up from the ruin for a room. The innkeeper doesn't seem to be very accommodating however. While the innkeeper and Iri are arguing over the cost, a roving merchant, Gulf, makes his appearance. Gulf offers to buy the treasures, giving them enough money to cover their room for the evening. While Iri is pondering how much Gulf is going to rip them off, Fam is trying to use her magic to talk with Gulf's scruffy little dog, Gill. The dog doesn't seem to be a people person and tries to take Fam's hand off. Finally Iri agrees to Gulf's deal and they get their room. Getting to the room, Fam immediately bounces into bed and flops around, marveling at the fluffiness of the bed. Iri meanwhile is taking a bath and dozes off. She has a dream about her childhood when she was an apprentice to some mage. Apparently she had just done something really bad cause the entire place is a shambles and the mage is yelling at her and obviously very hacked off. She tries to calm the mage down but he is too pissed off and proceeds to cast a curse on Iri. Iri sneezes and wakes up at that point. Getting out of the bath, she vows to get the power necessary to remove her curse and then get her revenge on the old mage. By this time, Fam is already asleep in bed. The next morning, Fam is dazzled by the amount of food available in the inn for breakfast and happily starts to bite into a roll when Iri snatches it out of her hands. Fam is none too pleased but gets berated by Iri for not saving the non-perishable foods for the road. Their little discussion is broken up by the entrance of the innkeeper who doesn't seem to like his guests taking extra food for later consumption. During breakfast, Gulf appears again with a deal for the duo. While he is retelling the legend of King Wolkes and the kingdom of Rudak to Iri, Fam is teasing the dog with a donut. Five hundred years ago, when Rudak was at its peak, the Queen died and King Wolkes lost his memory. After that, the country sank into constant warfare and violence until one day, the king suddenly discovered the Power which he used to restore his kingdom to prosperity. To get the Power, the king was performing a ceremony in a tower and he cut off all contact with other people. Apparently the king began to doubt the Power and the ceremony failed so the king and his kingdom withered and died. To this day, the tower still stands and is located to the east of the town that they are currently in. Of course, Gulf has managed to attain a map of the castle that the ceremony was held in and is offering to sell it to Iri. Iri bites and winds up spending all their money for the map. Fam, watching the final deal, forgets about the dog and promptly lives to regret it as the dog, still after the donut in her hand, chomps down on her hand. On the way to the old castle ruins, Fam asks Iri what she wants the Power for. Iri replies that first she's going to get rid of her curse and then get revenge on the old mage. And then maybe conquer the world. Fam thinks that's evil so Iri asks her what she wants the Power for. Fam says she wants to learn lots of magic and then become the friend of all people and animals and make the world a nicer place. Iri scoffs at her for not being more greedy. Upon arriving at the castle ruins, Iri takes the first few steps into the entrance corridor and promptly sets off a chain of 7 booby traps which they miraculously dodge and run their ways through before finally having the floor give out on 'em again (Note: falling through floors seem to be a common theme throughout this series.). [Halfway break] Fam & Iri find themselves in another corridor that ends at a door with the face of a Zatorugu monster imbedded as the lock. The Zatorugu monster has 3 eyes and can see what's in a person's heart. One eye sees goodness, one eye sees evil, and the other eye sees the truth. While Iri is trying to figure out which one is the truth, Fam randomly presses an eye which turns out to be the wrong one naturally and the floor beneath them swings downward to reveal a spiked pit below. Fam manages to snag the monster face with her staff to keep from falling in while Iri grabs onto Fam's tail which causes Fam a lot of pain. Fam manages to move the eye back into place so the floor swings back up again. Eventually they find the right eye and the door slides open. Fam is still griping about Iri grabbing onto her tail so Iri blames her for pushing the wrong button in the first place and stomps off into the open room. Fam follows her and suddenly the magical light that was emanating from her staff disappears. Within the room, the seal that they have been looking for stands on a pedestal flanked by two huge suits of armor equipped with halberds. When the two try to approach the seal, the suits suddenly come alive and block their way. One of the suits asks them why they want the family seal. Iri takes a chance and tries to trick the suits by saying that she is the king of Rudark, Wolkes and that she needs it to revive the kingdom. The suits don't buy it and attack. Fam tries to stop the suits with magic but her spell doesn't work and the suits blow right past her and attack Iri. This is when Rasha and Miguel show up along with Gulf and his dog. Rasha had blocked Fam's magic ability ever since they had entered the room and while they were preoccupied with the two suits of armor, Rasha and Miguel had obtained the seal. So basically Gulf had tricked Fam & Iri into doing the dirty work of finding the seal and now that he had it, was going to leave them to handle the two animated suits. Before Fam & Iri or the suits could stop them, the trio leave the room and lock the door behind them. Rasha, Miguel, and Gulf then head off for the tower to obtain the Power. In the meanwhile, Fam finally got her spell to work and froze the suits for a while. Back in the tower, Rasha, Miguel, and Gulf enter the room where the Power is supposed to be kept. Within the room they find a coffin and a stand that appears to be where the seal should be placed. Rasha places the seal on the stand and a bright light starts to shine from it. Meanwhile, Fam & Iri are still trapped in the room with the two suits of armor. Iri wants Fam to use her magic to break open the door but Fam won't because she says if she uses her magic to destroy, the spirits will be angry with her. Iri accuses her of trying to get brownie points with the spirits. Taking matters into her own hands, Iri uses her own magic powers to open the door. Back in the tower, a beautiful ghostly female apparition appears before Rasha, Miguel, and Gulf. She asks them why they had brought her back. They ask her about the ultimate Power and she tells them that she doesn't possess any almighty power. The trio are shocked. The apparition introduces herself as Queen Rihiana and explains to them that the power they've been looking for is actually three "secret" powers: the sword Sargus, the Mirror of Truth, and the family seal. Apparently when the king told everyone that he was coming to the tower to get the Power, he was actually coming to the tower to visit the Queen. After apologizing for not being able to help them any more, the apparition disappears. Disappointed, the three rogues leave the room only to run into Fam & Iri and the 2 suits of armor. The suits attack Rasha because she was holding the seal and in the confusion, the seal gets tossed around with the suits basically attacking whoever is touching the seal. In the bedlam, Miguel is off to the side laughing aloud and an angry Rasha yells at him to stop laughing and to do something. So he whips out his sword and promptly demolishes the suits with one swing. Confronting Iri, he mistakes her for a guy, accidentally makes a vertical slash in the center of her shirt, and promptly gets his butt kicked. At this point, Rasha casts a spell that holds Fam & Iri to the wall with stone pieces ripped from the floor. While they're helpless, Rasha takes the seal from Fam and they leave them behind again. When Rasha and Miguel get outside to where their horses were kept, they find them fast asleep. While examining the horses, they too succumb to the sleeping powder that Gulf had used on the horses. When the two are asleep, Gulf takes the seal and leaves. However, as he's about to leave, Iri blows a hole in the outside wall of the tower and sees Gulf attempting to flee. Now it's Fam's turn to cast magic and she causes giant vines to shoot out of the desert and wrap around Gulf. When they finally get out of the tower, Fam starts bashing the sleeping Miguel on the head with her staff while Iri goes to have a chat with the ensnared Gulf. Gulf hands over the seal along with the money that he had taken from Iri in the first place as payment for the map. At the end, Fam & Iri are riding back across the desert after having a relatively productive day. Fam boasts that she could take care of Rasha, Miguel, and Gulf if they run into them again so Iri tells her to memorize 5 spells before she goes to sleep that night. Fam starts to pout and the screen fades into the starry night.
