Fam

Although her name is first in the title, Fam seems to play more of a sidekick role to the more aggressive Iri. I guess the creator just figured Fam & Iri rolls easier off the tongue than Iri & Fam. Fam is one of the cutest characters I have ever seen and her seiyuu, Shiina Makiko (she seems to have 2 first names: Hekiru is her stage name, and apparently Makiko is her true name), does a spectacular job in expounding on this wonderful attribute. In an interview with the seiyuu, Shiina described Fam as a cross between an elf and a squirrel. Eh, I don't exactly understand the squirrel part since although Fam does have a tail, it's not a big, bushy, squirrel tail. Personality-wise, Fam seems to be very friendly, easily amused and pleased, and maybe a bit ditzy sometimes. Happy-go-lucky with a touch of innocence would be a good way to describe her. She plays the magic user in support of Iri's fighter role and Iri is always turning to her for magical help despite the fact that Fam is reluctant to cast any sort of destructive spell because she's afraid that the spirits will become angry with her if she does. Therefore, her spells are generally limited to simple stuff like casting light or talking to animals, or predicting the weather. Although to be fair, she does pull through when they need it the most. Fam meets Prince Lyle in the second episode and since then, she is always fighting against Rasha for Lyle's affection. Although Lyle seems to be turning a blind eye to the two for now. I enjoy this series a lot because of Fam. She's just so FUN to listen to and watch. ^o^
