Took a brief, one-day excursion down to Pennsylvania Dutch country during the end of June with Erin, her friend Stephanie, and _her_ friend who's name I've forgotten. Picked a pretty good day for it too since it was a Tuesday and the weather was quite nice. Unfortunately I forgot that I had been fiddling with my camera's ISO on manual mode before so that the pics we took that day turned out to be really pixelly and rough looking. Oh well, better luck next time. Took a buggy ride through an Amish farm and learned some things about Amish life. Then grabbed some lunch at one of the "family-style" restaurants there. Set menu and shared food with other people at your table so you sorta had to get to know them a bit. Interesting setup. Mashed potatoes was awesome as was the egg noodle dish that they had. Also tried a little bit of the shoofly pie. Perfect for people who love brown sugar and molasses. And lots of it at that. ;-p Overall a pretty enjoyable day trip. Plus there are outlet malls in that area these days too in case you have the desire to hit one of those. =p
