Good flick? Bad Homer?

Cassandra warns those looking for a faithful adaptation to stay away.

If this movie was titled The Iliad, I’d be nitpicking even further about stuff in the movie that actually happens in The Odyssey instead. But compared to other transgressions, these are easier to overlook.

BTW, Happen to be reading the Robert Fagles translation of The Iliad. Unlike the dry version I vaguely remember reading in school, his interpretation brings poetry to the epic poem.
