Made our annual trip to the NJ shore this afternoon since Erin was in the mood again. Our beach trips tend to be atypical since we usually leave for the shore in the early/mid afternoon, stay on the beach for an hour or two, and then hit a seafood restaurant slightly before the dinner crowd. Last year we poked around Sandy Hook so this year we ventured a few miles further south and wound up at the Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park in Long Branch.
Today probably wasn't the best beach weather but it was great weather to be outside in general. Low humidity, low-to-mid 80's. I tend to like my beach weather just a smidgen warmer. But at least it was much better than when we went to Sandy Hook last year.
Not sure if it's the area in general or the time that we're going but I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of people around for the most part. Probably most people are venturing to the beaches farther south or are already on the way home by 4pm. One good thing about getting to Seven Presidents after 4, you don't have to pay for beach pass or parking. ;-p
