Small Tank Update...

This 5.5 gal has been my most stable tank to date. I think it may be because it's the only tank that's not near the window. The other 2 tanks being so close to the window may be causing the water temperature in them to spike to uncomfortable levels for longer amounts of time. Hopefully with summer passing by this will be less of a problem.

Anyway, even though less fish are dying in this tank (just the sole cory habrosus), it's still rather algae-infected so I've been trying to combat it by overdosing with Flourish Excel. Been a bit over a week now. I think it's sorta working. Half the algae that was growing on the driftwood are gone but the rest of the tank is still infected. And I think the overdose is taking its toll on the plants too cause the sagitarria are getting yellow and thin. Will probably keep at it for another week and then cut back.

The fish are doing well though I believe. Added a female (about as definite as I can be, it's real drab in color and has a horizontal band running the length of the body from behind its eyes) honey gourami, 2 regular otos and a zebra oto. They all seem to be co-existing peacefully with the pre-existing honey, flamingo and sparkling gourami and 3 cory pygmaeus.
